Individual Therapy for Teens

Being a teenager is harder than ever! Teens have to balance a lot between friends, family, school, free time, maybe a job, too. You're trying to become more independent, while still needing help. You're making more decisions for yourself and inevitably making mistakes along the way. You're figuring out how to become your own person, how you would like to handle things, and maybe asking yourself the question, "Who am I?" I find that teenagers already have an inner wisdom. I'm here to help you tap into that, so that you can develop your own voice. I work mostly with teens struggling with depression, anxiety, and trauma, who may be self-harming, feeling suicidal, and generally wanting to better deal with their emotions. I work with teens ages 12+. Family involvement looks different for each teen. This will be discussed at consultation.

Individual Therapy for Adults

No matter how old we are, we find ourselves wanting to better understand ourselves. I help people wanting to unstick themselves from old patterns and the stories we tell ourselves. You might be realizing that you didn't get everything you needed as a child, so you're here in therapy trying to fill the gaps and figure it out for yourself. Whether it be because of trauma, lifelong struggles with depression or anxiety, substance use, or whatever uncontrollable circumstance life threw at you, you're ready to find a new way. You know you want something differently, you just might not know what that looks like. I'm here to help shine a light onto new methods to navigate life and feel more peace within the inevitable chaos of life.

Family Therapy/Parental Support

I've worked with lots of different families; adoptive, biological, co-parenting, blended families, queer, etc. Ultimately, you are seeking a more harmonious family unit. This is still true for families with adult children. We often imagine family therapy to look like everyone in the room. That is not what is always best and indicated for each family. Whether it be everyone or just some members, this will be discussed at consultation.

I also work with those who are parenting to better support their kids and teens, whether that be biological children, grandchildren, adopted children, etc. What it's like to be a kid these days is much different than when you were their age. Parental Support Therapy can help bridge the gap between. Maybe you have a teen who is resistant to their own therapy, maybe the way your parents taught you how to parent isn't working, or maybe your parenting style isn't a "good fit." I help those that are parenting learn new skills to more confidently know how to respond, and not react, in a way that is supportive.

Process Group for People who Parent Teens with Mental Health

You may feel alone now, and you might be surprised to know how many others there are like you. I've found working with teens and their families, those that are parenting can feel quite isolated in navigating everything that comes along with having a teen that struggles with mental health. This group focuses on giving a space for parents to process through these experiences with others of similar experiences. This is not a group that is educational or skills-focused. You will most likely still find yourself learning new things through sharing advice, tips, and receiving feedback. There will be general topics explored that the group will decide on together. This is a closed group that meets every other week for 90 minutes.

Payment

My rate is $155 per 50 min session or $240 per 80 min session. I do offer sliding scale fees, especially for marginalized populations like BIPOC and LGBTQ folx. Please inquire about availability and rate for sliding scale.

I currently take payments out-of-pocket via cash, check, credit/debit card, HSA card, or Venmo. I can provide a superbill if you'd like to get reimbursement from your insurance. You will have to call your insurance first to see if you have out-of-network benefits and how much reimbursement they will provide.

Payment is due at the time of your appointment.

No show and late cancellation fees do apply.
